Abstract

The VDI guideline 2206/2004 describes the procedure for modelling, which includes
the summarized process of verification and validation. Especially if models
represent complex systems, this process is time-consuming and requires
considerable technical knowledge and experience. To increase the efficiency an
enhanced procedure for verification and validation is introduced. The enhanced
procedure combines structured composition with consistent integration of sensitivity
analyzes and optimizations. This aids the user to validate the model and
leads to an improvement of the model quality. To illustrate the enhanced procedure
an example of use is performed.
