Abstract
In technical systems, the real system behavior is often only observable to a limited extent. Therefore, the design engineer doesn’t know the exact caus-es of the occurring effects. This can prevent further development, since it is not known which shape and material parameters are relevant for the desired function. The aim of this paper is to present a methodology that supports design engineers in the identification of the real system behavior and the relevant shape parameters. This methodology is called analyseKIT and ex-tends the established approach - the connection of the shape parameters with the experimental data - with the observation of the place of function fulfill-ment. The methodology is developed by the analysis of development projects of a manual sweeper and a plastic dowel.
